The fact is that the art of the human beatbox is getting better and better as time goes on. In the past it seemed that people took the sound of a drum and synthesizer and produced these musical sounds with their mouth. It was regarded a great skill and sounded really realistic when compared to the real musical instrument.
However as time went on, the skills of these talented folk got better as adding vocals as well, at the same time as the beats put a whole new concept to this beatbox lark.
Why people do the beatbox is hard to know but it was thought that it started from the days of Hip Hop and with the DJs doing scratching and sampling it was an alternative to someone singing a whole song. Whatever the reasoning behind the art it now getting so cool that even searching on Youtube will bring out numerous people who can do this style of human beat boxing.
